INDIVIDUAL ADVOCACY

Ethel, who uses a walker, called WCIL, very upset about a notification from Access Services that they were dropping her from their transportation services for people with disabilities because she had been a "no show" three times per their records. She explained that this wasn't the case at all. She was waiting just as scheduled and Access Services never showed! The WCIL advocate listened, advised her and gave her the number for the eligibility director at Access Services. Ethel telephoned him with her explanation, and then spoke to the certification department where they corrected their records. Calling WCIL back, Ethel thanked us for our help in what could have been a very scary situation for her.
